I am a 14-year-old very-probably-lesbian who's been watching South of Nowhere for a while. This is the second time I've had to write this due to a typo with the security code, despite my last message being almost a full 1,000 characters long, but SoN is rather worth it. South of Nowhere is the ONLY TV show that I watch anymore, and I'd like to say that I thoroughly enjoy it. That it is being cancelled deeply frustrates me. It helped me sort out a few things with my own sexual preferences, and made me laugh, smirk, jump up and down, and occaisionally nearly punch the screen trying to murder Paula. I can't believe The N Channel is cancelling it, and I hope that it is at least picked up by another channel, because it truly is a wonderful and inspiring story.

Hello, I'm 20 years old from Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I first heard about the show a few months after it had aired. I saw a few banners on AfterEllen.com and thought i'd go check out the show. I checked out the previews on the n network and thought I should download it since we don't have the program here. I loved it the first second I watched it. I've learn a lot from the show. Many things I can relate to. A lot of questions and concern that I had, were finally answered and spoken for. The show may be a bit too good to be true in some cases - Spashley (it's too rare for anyone to find a love like that), however, it does give hope that perhaps someday I can find someone like that... not the whole lifestyles of the rich and famous (Ashley Davies) and all, but the love between Spencer and Ashley and acceptance. Fair Thee Well South Of Nowhere, I'm just as devastated about this as I was for the series finale of Gilmore Girls and Buffy the Vampire Slayer =(

I'm very sad to hear that SoN have been cancelled, its such a great show and it has a huge impact on my life. Its a real show that deals with issues that teens go through and even adults, its an inspiring show. I was 17 when i was lucky enough to find this show,i'm 19 now. I'm not gonna say that this show made me bi, but it most definetly helped me find myself and i was much like spencer just trying to find my place in this world. Ive stuck by this show for 3 seasons and i wont stop now, SoN is a amazing show with amazing actors that are very loyal to their fans,so now its time for us to show our support. We really need a show like SoN, that have the guts to deal with sexual orientation. I bet that if people years ago had a show like this the "coming out" process would have been a lot easier.Help Save Spashley.

It is rare when a TV show is able to touch so many people in such a personal way. South of Nowhere has not only tackled the difficult subject of homosexuality but did it in a way that highlights some of the most difficult and vulnerable times that gay youth have to endure. This is a show that has brought relevance back to TV. It seems a travesty that it should be canceled before its time. There are so many people, teens especially, that need this show. For many, myself included, a half-an-hour on Fridays is the only time that we feel a true connection and understanding with what we are going through. I think I speak for many when I ask, I plead, not to take that away from us.

I just wanted to say that SON had great impact on my life. Even though I’m a straight 20 year old woman it changed the way I thought about homosexuals. After first I would laugh at jokes and even make comments about them with my friends, because I thought that it was a life choice. But after watching the show my way of thinking about this issue has changed. I realized that it was not a choice and I had no right to judge others because of their lifestyle. This left me defending my views against my religious friends and family. In the end SON is a great show that could help many others in different ways. To cancel the show would be cutting off helping others in discovering who they are and others understanding this lifestyle.

I was really disappointed to hear that South of Nowhere was being canceled. Being a 23 year old female, The N isn't exactly a channel I flock to, and being straight, I'm not exactly the intended target of South of Nowhere, but I heard about it and decided to tune in. Well, I'm so glad I did because I fell in love with it! It's such a great, truly promising show. And it's sad to see it come to an end.

As a straight teenager in Canada, I found South of Nowhere and Spashley through the internet. A friend of mine was talking about it on her Livejournal, and it sounded interesting, and the rest is history. Since then, Spencer and Ashley have become a part of my life, in a way. I know there are close minded people out there that think that a straight girl couldn't relate or appreciate the journey that Spencer went through and the relationship she has with Ashley, but that couldn't be further from the truth. I know that this show has helped so, so many people over the years, whether that's helping someone come out of the closet or helping a parent to understand and accept a gay child. It has impacted countless people's lives, and that is something that can't be said about a lot of shows, especially today. This show is way too special and groundbreaking, and important to take off the air already. Getting this show on was a huge step, and taking it off is just a step backwards.

I found this show in my 8th grade year, and when no one else could give me answers, this show made me realize I was gay, and very in love with a best friend of mine. Besides that tie to it, the story is amazing, Spashley legendary and beautiful, and the fanfiction and fanbase is indescribable. The fact that they would even consider the notion of cancelling it just ain't cool at all, and I know we'll do something to change it, and save Spashley. Keep on fightin freedom fighters, peace, love, and spashley always

I am a teen, and this show has helped me a lot. I thought it was ok to make fun of people and say rude comments like, "Thats so gay." I was the bully, but i feel bad for everything I had done and have given a million apoligies and sorries and meant ever last one. If this show wasnt here, i probably wouldn't have changed my ways. To tell you the truth, i only made fun of gay people so that i could make myself feel better. Finding out that you are just like them, well bi, isnt the greatest of feelings, and i had to vent out somehow. I thought that if i made jokes about them that i wouldn\'t like girls, and i could be normal. But south taught me that what people consider normal never is. Please don't cancel South. It has helped me SOOO much and i can't imagine my life without it. I used to think if i didnt do mean things to others, other people would do mean things to me. But thats not true, SoN helped me realize that. This is who i am.The girl who's Bi. Im Black/White.I am the iRonicOreo

I think that canceling south was a huge mistake for the -n. South is such an amazing show. It has an incredibly loyal fanbase that would follow it to anyyyy network. (hint hint for any network that wants to pick it up.) What other show could keep such a huge following when they show 8 ..30 minute episodes... and then make us wait 8 months for the next 8. Its crazy. I met my girlfriend because of South of Nowhere. It will forever have a special place in my heart. SAVE SPASHLEY!

I'm a straight, married, and over-twenty woman and I adore this show! When I first discovered Spashley, I was hooked. I'm always looking for something different to watch, other than the usual boring guy/girl love story (been done too many times), and this fit the bill. I passed the word on to many teenagers and they got hooked as well. When two people have had to endure as much as these two have and still remain in love, than they are meant to be! Spencer's journey has been beautiful to watch and more importantly, has meant the world to so many people struggling with their sexual orientation. This show must be saved! There is still much, much more of the Spashley story to tell!

Ok so I am probably one of the older people to watch the show being 21 but I love all the same. So one day I was just flipping channels and came across South by accident it just happen to be the ep Girls Guide To Dating. And all I can remember was thinking where was this show when I was 15. I might have came in late however I had never missed an ep. or late to turn the tv on when it came on. This show is just an eye opener for so many things. It helped people feel ok enough with themselves to not be afraid of what the world will say and what family will do because in the end LOVE won over and the world and family finally seen. It is dumb of the-n to cancel a show that is ranked number one seller on itunes over the rest of the shows for that network and heck it only has two and a half seasons out verse the 7 that is out for the dumb show in the second slot. This show need to come back some way because there are still people out there who need its help and I hope they will get it

i am 18 years old and i am a lesbian, i first started questioning my sexuality when i was 15 years old.I had no one to turn to because all my friends deffiantely went gay and didnt understand it, I guess you can say im not a typical lesbian, im not boyish, i love wearing make up and beng a girl, the only lesbians i knew of where the girls who had short hair and baggy clothes and i thought thats the only kind their was and they wouldnt understand me untill i saw south of nowhere, i could relate to them and i came to terms that i cant put my self in a category, i just like women and i cant help it, it has nothing to do with how you look or act, and the show taught me that, why i even came out to my mother and that wasnt pretty, just like spencers mother couldnt accept her daughter being gay, neither could my mom but she is giving in and try to accept me, i would have been crushed if i had done that and not had south of nowhere to related to and show me i not alone. PLEASE RECONSIDER!!!!

At 27, i surprise myself at how important this show is to me. To hear it had been cancelled was a real blow. It's way too premature, there is countless more stories left to tell for all the characters. I'm not gay, and that's maybe not neccessary for you to know. But, i just wanted you to see how varied the audience for South of Nowhere is. So, i'm probably deemed older than the intended audience, probably surprising giving my sexuality that this show interests me. I'm a mum to a to a 10yr old girl. I'm from the UK, so no direct tv access to the show and i don't find Matt Cohen hot! - I really don't seem to tick any of the right boxes do i?! - Well, that would be the magic of SoN. It appeals to all. The fan base of this show is incredible. I wish only for it to increase. The show has helped some many people deal with issues; sexuality, race, religion etc. How sad and disturbing that others to come will be denied the same. I urge the N to reconsider. Eat humble pie; it tastes good.

Like many, many have said before me, this show has made a huge impact on my life. When i was 12 years old i started to watch South. Not only did the show touch me, but it helped me come out to my friends and family. At first when the news ame out, i thought it was a joke. When i actually heard it announced the network that this was the final season, i looked at the screen and just cried, i could absoutley not believe it. I feel that sadly the network was only tolerating South, now they are just going to shove it aside like it hasn't been one of the most inspirational shows that has ever been produced. Like I said, theis show has touched mine, and many other lifes all around the world. The major lesson that I learned watching South was that, "whatever people consider to be normal. it never is". Giving this show a chance was a great decision, now another network needs to take the risk. I am 15 year old girl and a "gay american"

south of nowhere is such an ahmazzing show. and i say is and not was, because i have confidence that we can save spashley. this show has done so much for me. it is one of the most relatable and real life shows out there. south is also a very underrated show, to no fault of its own. if only more people copuld see the magic it does to the faithful viewers. many people are saying this, so it has to be tru, sout of nowhere is such a great show. it helped me to come out, which was such a hard thing to do. but whenever i needed to know i wasnt alone, south and its fan can to the rescue. so i deeply say with great confidence, that south of nohwere is the best show out there right now. so, hopefully we can do somethign to help this show go on, and continue to touch people. thanx for reading. =) ooh. and im a girl, and a proud lesbian. im 14 and i live in massachusetts.

Like everyone here, I'm deeply saddened by the news. I was one of the first to know and immediately my hatred for The-N grew. This show has done so much for me, so much for all of us, and it's an injustice to have it ripped away without a plausible reason. South of Nowhere has brought me so many things. Before this show came into my life I wasn't homophobic, per se, but I definitely didn't give the LGBT community much respect, and I want to apologize right now for that. I'm sorry. Without this show I wouldn't have found my best friend and without her, life would suck. And life without South and her would be unbearable. Without South I believe it would've taken me a lot longer than it already had to realize that..yes, I'm gay, and it's perfectly acceptable. No matter what anyone else says. This show needs to be on the air. This show needs to be kept going. My generation and the ones following need this to open their eyes and their hearts. Jessi, 19, Wisconsin

South really helped me realize that I was a lesbian and that I couldn't live a lie to myself anymore. Coming from a strict Christian household I could totally relate to Spencer and her mother as well. I am probably not the average age that watches this show...I was a late bloomer came out at 27. And now looking back only a year later I have grown so much in accepting who I am. The relationship between Spencer and Ashley impacted me b/c it made lesbianism seem not so scary to face... Despite losing my family over my sexuality South gave me a comfort that I couldn't seem to find from anywhere else... Now honestly I feel very abandoned and very angry at the n-network b/c now I feel like I will be losing so much support in my life. When no one accepts you for who you are sometimes its nice to watch South b/c you don't feel so alone... I wish this show came out when I was in high school. I feel I would have been a lot farther along in my journey.PLEASE SAVE SPASHLEY!!!!!

When i saw/read that South of Nowhere was getting cancelled my heart literally broke in 2. I've been with South since day one. i've loved it ever since. W/out it my life won't ever be the same. South has helped me with SO much. When i first started watching it, i had no idea who i was or what i was. I was just a 14 yr. old confused girl. But now after following along with the series, i know who and what i am. And at first i was scared, but seeing Spencer and Ashley go through hard times and get through it, gave me the courage and strength to know that i can too. I'm no longer confused or scared, I'm a 16 yr. old who has finally accepted herself. I love this show with all my heart. And to see it come to an end, i just can't accept. So i am going to do whatever it takes to make sure that Spashley gets saved. South has def. helped me with so many things than any of my friends or family could ever have helped. I owe everything to South. It's what made me, me. South of Nowhere is LOVE!!!

I was so beyond shocked when I heard South was going to be cancelled.... First off, Im not gay, but it did open my mind to the whole gay world and all and it put me in their shoes. I feel for Ashley and Spencer. The show is so powerfull that it can touch so many people in so many ways. Some can relate to the show, and others are learning new things from the show. Like, how to come out of the dark closet. Or how to be with the one you love but your mom doesnt accept of. Or how to deal with being in love with two people at once. Or even how to deal with death and sudden tragedies...The show has so many great lines and plots that are related to the REAL LIFE high school/teenage life. its a great show that captivated millions. It shouldn\'t go out like this...It just cant.. If anyone has anything to ask or anything, contact me on myspace.com/sissybaby.\r\n

I think this is a very bad mistake by the The N, and I think that it's an decicion made out of fear, because they don't know where they can go next with the spashley storyline. Unfortunatly this AGAIN sends an negative message out there, we NEED this show on tv. We need more acceptance in the world, and this show has helped so many people. WE NEED A 4th SEASON!! And, not months between episodes. Start to respect the fans. We can make a difference, like stop watching the n.

South of Nowhere changed my life. I know it's redundant to say it when so many people have said the same but that's just how it is. The fact that it touched and resonated with so many people proves that this wasn't just ANY show, it was a show that made a difference, it showed people around the world that it was ok to be who they are, and a show that didn't only promote tolerance but acceptance. It also showed that love does exist and it doesn't matter what form it takes, it's just there. Spashley is what gives me hope that in a not so distant future I'll be able to experience the same things Spencer or Ashley did, and I'll find my soulmate. Spencer and Ashley made this show what it is today and I know that I'll never forget it. I can only hope that the show continues to make a difference and continues for more seasons because it is DEFINITELY still needed. It always will be.

The first word that came to my mind...DAMN!South Of Nowhere is that kind of show that doesn't make your brain workout like mad and, at the same time, doesn't degrade it!There aren't so many shows wich can be asossiated with 'the golden middle' (or how it spells, I don't really know...:p )Why does some stinky sappy drama or some brainspilling sh...errr....thing goes for whole 10 seasons and some great show like SON for pathetic 3?

Love is Love.....Plain and simple....\So my question now is exactly how are teenagers and young adults suppose to feel a sense of assurence a sense of security without and tv shows showing them that its okay to be gay its okay to be different and who you choose to love does not make you any less of a human being.....I was 12 when I first found out I was a lesbian....I felt lost and confused....I didn't know anybody else that was gay so I had nobody to talk to....then when I was 15 I saw South of Nowhere for the first time...and I didn't feel alone anymore I knew that there were other people out there who felt the same way I did....So we need to keep this show on the air!!!

South of Nowhere how I love thee so. Those buggers at the-n don't know what they had...Actually, in all seriousness, I will miss the show like ca-razy! We always knew the-n weren't happy with it being a lesbian show, (I really don't think I have to remind you of the shambles that was season 2 =P ) But alas, as Nelly Furtado would say All Good Things Come To An End. But I just wish that South didn't have to!

I love SON, actually, i am addicted to SON. Not only that, i am addicted to any thing that says SON, Spencer and Ashley, Spashley.... I spend hours on the fanfic and fan video every day. I would skip doing my homework just to read fanfiction. I had to look for internet cafe when i was in Asia just to read SON fanfiction. So you see, if the show is canceled, you ruin part of my life here. please do something to save the show, don't just sit there and blame on 'changes'. take action! Please save Spashley!!!

I know we are suppose to be sending out our letters in mass but I'm sending out a letter a day to the Network, The Production company and a few other places, so basically about 5 a day. I'll hold off on using the compasses I bought for everyone else, but I think writing as much as possible is a good thing because the more mail the better. Plus, with all the letters and such they're gonna get, I highly doubt they'll recognize people's handwriting.

I was completely hooked on South of Nowhere within the first few minutes seeing the first clips from Season 1. I didn't find the show until after it started, whenI finally got to see all the episodes...wow! I couldn't believe how well the characters and their feelings for each other developed. I have loved Spencer's story arc of figuring out who she is, coming to terms with that and learning to love herself the way she is. What a powerful message! the scene where she pulls Ashley from Spencer's room by the hair ranks as one of the most emotionally raw scenes I can remember. But on the other hand, you're just not human if your heart doesn't melt a little bit at the Paula-Ashley interaction before the gay pride parade. I belong to a chat group that gets together a few times a month to dissect an episode, discusssing nuances and those wacky SoN time/space continuum discrepancies! South is more than just some show, it has changed lives and how many shows can say that?

I tried to think about a lot of things to say about this whole thing and how I was feeling about that but truth is that I couldn't come up with anything. I'm still speechless. This show means so much to me that it's simply impossible to describe. Or even try to. SoN allowed me so many things. Made my life meaningful and gave me lots of friends. Never a TV show accomplished such thing as that. And especially not to me. I'm not even in the us. I'm Brazillian and I've been watching SoN since it's first season. Suffering. Waiting. Hoping. Cheering. And now... what am I supposed to do? I'm pretty sure I won't find another passion as the one I have for this show. I'm not even sure I want to. South of Nowhere just means a lot to me and I'm not ready to let it go. Not like that. Not now.

I could seriously start crying in reading all the testimonials here. The way this show helped so many people!!! helped me!!! I could really cry. Its more than just a show. the sooner a network understands that - the sooner their eyes will be open - so lets make them understand!!! This is by far one of the best shows i have ever seen. Im 25 years old college educated out lesbian and i tear up every time i see the two together. This doesn't need to stay on for just entertainment purposes. this MUST stay on for educational too!!! the things they go through is sooo helpful to teens in this day and age. its soo important to realize that pure love that we see on son. Its a severe tragic descion if this is being canceled for being feared reasons. pressure from religious groups or something like that. shame on them! Let spashley love. Love is exactly that- LOVE! spashley fan forever! Jennifer Ashley~Lynn
