To me, South of Nowhere has been a very important show. I believe that this show has been so important for many queer kids as they try to navigate who they are and find their place in the world. I hope that the cancellation of this show will be reconsidered, as I feel that we need more positive queer role models for youth.

I have a lot of friends who are either gay or at that point that they are questioning their sexuality. Before the show I looked at gay people differently. Honestly I didn't look at them like they were average people. I wasn'y homophobic but I didn't give them the respect they all should deserve. One of my friends came to me one day and told me about the show. I was like, "Yeah, ok." Well like a week later, I was flipping through channels and I saw that it was on. I watched it and I enjoyed it. I've seen every episode and some how they have helped me connect to the people that are gay. Since I heard that the show was canceled many of my friends became concern because a lot of them looked to the show for help or just to see hope. For some reason, that has been unanswered to the public,..... the show was canceled. I could understand because of the potiential of MAJOR hatemail, but still why cancel a show that has had such powerful affects on people!?

I'm going to miss South of Nowhere very much. This was the only show I watched regularly on the n because it was the only one I found entertaining not to mention the characters are all very likable well.. except for two.. but the show isn't about them so I won't get into that. I knew a day would come when we had to say goodbye to SON but I didn't think it would be this soon. If only the network could see how awesome this show is.

yeah so im a senior in highschool and i just recently came out to my parents. and it was all because of south of nowhere. i love this show and it has been such an inspiration to me. and we cant forget how hott mandy musgrave is. my girlfriend is totally jealous of how much i love her its amazing. but anyways... does the-n realize how many people are going to stop watching the channel because south is pretty much the only show on the n that has actors and actresses that can actually act. no offense but its true. a total of 3 years this show has been on and look at the impact that it has had on so many teenagers in this country. its just crazy. it hurts me to know that one day i wont be able to look forward to a new episode. i honestly cried when i heard the news. but this will change if i have anything to do about it.

I am very very very very very mad that south has not been renewed by the-n. I hate the-n now, they shouldn't have cancelled such a great show, its helped so many people and it's impact is enormous. I know i speak for every other south fan, when i say south of nowhere is just one of those shows you wont forget, one that you dont want to lose.

I was 15 when I first started to question my sexuality. I used to go to church on a regular basis and pray to God to help me. I couldn't accept who I was because everyone told me it was wrong and that it was a lifestyle choice. It wasn't until this summer when I caught South of Nowhere on MTV that I actually began to pay attention to who I was. I spent the longest time trying to catch up. I felt safe watching South because everything felt normal. It all felt real and safe. It wasn't some fictional story that could never happen. South has shown me that putting a gender to love is silly. I'm 17 now and I've begun to accept myself. I've stopped questioning because it isn't something to question. It's not a lifestyle choice and I know it now. South has helped me open my eyes to who I really am. It's the only show that I've ever watched that has had such a significant affect on my life.

I don't know who pulled the plug on South, but I'm really mad at them right now.South of Nowhere has always been the underdog on The-N, it was competing with Degrassi all the time. And now after 3 years it's just over. This show is amazing and needs to be on the air for people like me and people not like me. To be honest yes it had some plot flaws and iffy story lines but that happens in every show. To quote a bloger on AfterEllen dot com "We all we got." There are few shows that speak to the lesbian/bisexual community, and even FEWER that speak to lesbian/bisexual teenagers. Why cancel a show that is inspirational to a young LGBT generation? Spashley 4 Life.

Hello my name is Noelle, Im 16 and I live in MI. South saved my life! I remember when I first saw a promo for it. I thought it looked cool so I watch it. This was back when I thought I was gay and I hated my self for it. I remember wanting to kill myself at times. When I first watched it, it was like love at first sight I watched it over and over and I haven’t missed an episode. I love SON it’s the best thing to ever happen to me. I still haven’t told my mom and dad, but SON did help me to stop hating myself for being gay and except myself for the way I am. I dont know where I would be today with out it.SAVE SPASHLEY...SAVE SOUTH

I first learned of SoN when I read the AE article on top 10 femmes. Spencer was at # 8, I think. Anyway it said in the article that the character was from the show South of Nowhere so I looked it up on AE and started reading episode recaps. I ended up reading the recap for the whole season 1 in one sitting. Just from reading recaps of the show, I was hooked. I searched for ways to watch the first season on the N and after watching it I knew there was no coming back. I believe that it is a truly groundbreaking show. And the thought of it not being continued just saddens me immensely. It has not run its due course yet.

there are too many people around the world that love SON...starting for the whole US.,CANADA,ARGENTINA, MEXICO,PERU,CHILE,URUGUAY,PUERTO RICO,SPAIN,FRANCE,ITALY,SINGAPORE,INDONESIA, AUSTRALIA,GERMANY, and god knows what other countries...ALL TOGETHERS TO SAVE SON....there millions of viewers that THE-N is going to lose forever if you cancel the show....don't you belive me?, so you must check out the testimonials... and also you will notice that for every single persons of those countries (straights, gays, bisexuals, brothers, sisters, parents and grandparents) somehow south have changed their lifes for good...for some to don't be afraid about what people will say and come out, for others to understand that be gay is not a bad thing and that they need to be love and seen as normal people and not as freaks..and others to accept themselves as gay, lesbian or bi,........and maybe for others SON just makes them feel relief that they are not alone in this and that out there are lots of people that are having the same feelings, the same confusion and that they are not the onlyone that are trying to figure out themeselves.............There are too many cases, too many things that south have made for too many people....it deserve to stay on the air.........PLEASE there are still persons that need help, a help that maybe only south can give them, because you know that gay thing is not something that you can talk to your parents as if your telling them "hey, tonight i'm going to a party" ..................helooooooo! open youre eyes....save SON and you'll save others specially teenage people. This summer, my parents got divorced. As any child would, I fell into a slight depression. I spent my days sitting in my media room wathching tv and movies to clear my head. One day I stumbled across a show called South of Nowhere. This show helped me discover something that I had been hiding from myself. I could relate to the Spencers fear, not just of being gay itself, but the fear of people not accepting you for just being who you were. In no way did South of Nowhere turn me gay, but it did help me discover a very important part of myself and helped me understand who I was better. Even if im not ready to be that person for everybody else yet, with the help of shows like South of Nowhere I feel Ill gradually be ready to share who I am with the world. South of Nowhere is my safety zone, something I feel completely and totally comforatable with. Please dont take this away from me or anyone else, because this summer as my family broke apart, I found a new one.

Words cannot describe how much I'll miss Spashley & how much they mean to me. Their love transcends any label or generalization; yes, they are lesbians, but what is most wonderful is how that isn't even what makes them so amazing. The reason that they are so inspiring to gays & bisexuals across the world is because their love is beautiful & pure & genuine, and just natural. And so teens (and older people, too) struggling with their sexuality can see this couple that is incredible & relatable, and know that they can have love like that, too. Spashley isn't some over-the-top-gay couple; no, it is the pure existence of their undeniable love that makes them so great.Spashley is honestly the BEST couple I've ever seen on TV. So real, so beautiful together. Such a touching story. Through them, I fully became comfortable & confident in my bisexuality. Their story NEEDS to be continued. I need it, other Spashley fans need it, the world needs it. Please don't take it away!

I've been out of the loop for so long that this has just sunk in. I'm Catherine and I'm an out 24 year old from Central Florida. I finally gave this show at shot halfway during Season 2 and I was hooked. The next day after seeing my first episode, I bought a new computer so I could download the previous season and the episodes I'd missed. Needless to say, after a 5 hour marathon I was hooked and utterly in love. This show is and WAS so important for so many different age ranges and it's a shame that a network doesn't recognize the sheer greatness of this program. From the actor's flawless portrayal of these characters, to the behind the scenes folk that created this show, it will forever remain in our hearts and hopefully it could find a home with a network that understands its importance. These actors have earned fans for a lifetime but I personally would love to see them reprise their roles just a little longer. Long live Spashley and I will watch/download with a tissue in hand.

I absolutly hate that SON is being cancelled. I dont have cable, so i usually read the recaps and watch what i can online, but i have loved the show since day one. Im 20 yrs old & grew up in a religious conservative community. I struggled tremendously with my sexuality to the point of suicide attempts. I realize now how stupid i was to be ashamed of my feelngs. Had SON been a part of my life sooner, i know i would have been happy and well-adjusted earlier on. As sad as i am for Spashley to be leaving us, i do know it has paved the way for more tv shows and films of its kind. Im glad SON could touch so many lives and teach tolerance and acceptance. Spashley 4ever!!

Hi, my name is Naimah, I'm 17 from southern California. I can remember the very first time I saw a South episode. It was Thanksgiving 2005 and they were replaying the first three episodes. It took me all of five minutes to fall in love with the show. Around that time I was rally confused about my sexuality, I didn't know what was what with myself. The show really helped me to come to terms with my feelings for girls. But South of Nowhere isn't just a show about two girl's its a story about love, acceptance, friendship, family, and all the qualites that are valued and should be taught. This show, has impacted many lives, and if continued will impact many more.

My name is Nicole, I am completely strait. I just want to say that South of Nowhere is a one of a kind show. It's more than just another show to occupy your time. South of Nowhere has an awesome message. Going through high shool and college really opens you up to seeing what a homophobic place the world is. Who are you to decide who someone should or should not love? South of Nowhere shows people that it is ok to be you...no matter if it is what society agrees with or not. It doesn't focus on teeny bopper drama, it deals with real issues. That's what makes South of Nowhere different...it's an awesome show, that is more than just some show.

- what´s wrong with this people of THE N, what they thinking about it? please, somebody tell me... - well, this news are so bad, i hope this nightmare ends right now!!!!!HOLD ON SOUTH OF NOWHERE!!!

This is the absolute worst thing that could ever happen! I have been watching South of Nowhere since day one, every season, 8 oclock every friday night, recording every episode. To find out that there are only 8 episodes left n then its all over, well it just kills me. Never will another show come close to being anything like SoN and it would be the biggest mistake ever made to cancel it. I am furious and cant help but wonder what its doing to the cast and how they feel about all this. I mean to them, it's their career and a piece o f their life being taken away. But anyways, that is my testimonial and i hope those against the show come to their senses reaal quick n decide to NOT cancel South of Nowhere!!

I'm nicole muñoz, I am 15 years old, I live in Chile, and i don't want that they cancel South of Nowhere, because the show is inspired me A LOT in my life, and i learned a lot with the show. I'm bisexual, and one questions, why they cancel the 4th season?, South of Nowhere have a lot of raiting, i don't understand. A lot of teenagers loves this show and they would disappoint. I just loves this show, its helped me A LOT, and my life is ruined if they cancel South of Nowhere.

In my case I feel so identified with SoN.. It's helped me a lot in my life and remembers me that you're not different just for the fact of being GAY...I just hope they can see that in all the people who think about this like I do...I also feel that the characters are so real and it allows me to make me feel part of it :) I hope you get it! PLEASE DON'T CANCELL THIS SHOW! South of Nowhere rocks!!!!

My name is Doris Marie O’Sullivan, wife of Patrick O’Sullivan, and I’m writing because my granddaughter, Molly, wants me to help save Spashley. We haven’t always had the greatest relationship Molly and I. See, she’s 26 years old now; all grown up and she's a lesbian. Now, I come from the older generation: the generation where homosexuality was virtually unheard of and if it ever was, it certainly wasn't something to be proud of. So, when Molly and her mother sat me down, I want to say roughly four years now, and Molly told me that she was a lesbian I almost fainted. For a long time, my husband and I wouldn't accept it and when Molly started dating Julie, we refused to let them into our home. We were both Catholics and that type of thing just was flat out wrong according to God. And while I loved my granddaughter, I would not allow her to live in sin under my roof. It just wasn't acceptable. In 2005, Molly was over around Christmas time, without Julie, and I was just sharing cocoa with her, just like we used to do when she was a little girl and watching television, only instead of watching the Velveteen Rabbit, one of her favorite Christmas movies, we were watching some new television show she was quite enamored with. I admit that at first, I didn't catch on to all the subtext and subtleness of what was going on there which I think lessened the blow when I finally got what was going on with the two girls, Spencer and Ashley. And it really touched me when the one girl was so conflicted, so worried about being herself because she was afraid of how others would react. When it was finally over Molly looked at me with tears in her eyes and she said, "Grams, I just want to be loved. Like, everybody else, that's all I want." I remember it verbatim because it touched my heart so. How could I possibly refuse another person the opportunity to love who they want to love, and be loved how they want to be. The simple answer was I couldn't. Especially not my own grandbaby. So now Molly and I are as close as ever, occasionally she comes over to share cocoa and I, begrudgingly watch South of Nowhere with her...and Julie. I say begrudgingly because I'm not a big fan of that Aiden or that blonde boy that's following Ashley's sister around. I credit this show entirely for bringing us a little closer and I truly hope that it has done so for other parents, grandparents, siblings out there. This is why I think the show should stay on the air. Without it, who knows how long I would have gone on resenting my granddaughter. P.S. Even Patrick has come around although he won't watch the show.

Son still has many stories to tell.Save Spashley. We are Lost without Spashley.

Miyuki. Female.15. Lesbian. So I happen to be one of the younglings out here in the SoN world. My inital reacton to SoN being canceled was to jump off a cliff but then i found the light.Spashley was brought into my life when i was abou13ish.So up until this point i had been completely lost about myself who i was etc.Well ive known since about the 2nd grade that i liked girls,I was a tom boy in Elementary so i just thought oh it's natural no one cares.Word apparently got out.So about in the 5th-6th grade things started to change.I was abused by my classmates everyday, people at lunch would taunt me calling mea lesbian and such.I really thought life was hell.I was even thinking of comminting suicide. But then came along South.I remember seeing the promos & thought wow so there are ppl like me.My whole point to this is canceling south is plain stupid. I can only imagin the many girls now tat are going through wat i went through. We need a show like son to help ppl noe its ok 2 be who they are

Hi, i'm from latin america, i'm such a huge fan of the serie South of Nowhere and i'm following it on internet. I am 19 years old and coping with confusion and difficulties in life and south is a sort of therapy for me to help me understand and feel as though I am not on my own with my feelings. South helps people in so many ways not to judge and to learn how to have a better understanding of others. I don't normally watch teen shows but South in my opinion is the most true to life show I have ever seen. I am still unsure about my feelings and dealing with hurt and confusion, but with South of Nowhere it helps me to realize that others feel the same as I do, and it helps more than anything to know that. . South of Nowhere deserves to stay on the air because of it touches people and shows realities of everyday life like no other show does. People turn to South to cope and it has helped myself and many others to have a better understanding of life.

It's a shame that this show has to be cancelled, here in latinoamerica there's a lot of fans we also have forums and websites dedicated to South of Nowhere... anyway please don't cancel it. SAVE SPASHLEY. Thank you.

I am a guy, sixteen years old, completely straight, I live in Australia for crying out loud, and don't watch this for the typical guy thinking "oh awesome, lesbians" It's actually a great show. My older sister recently came out, and, as expected, me and my family were all pretty surprised. We weren't angry, just a bit confused, and unsure of the situation - as you would be with something so out of the blue like that. One of my friends, a girl, had already been watching SoN through the web, and said I should watch it, she thought it might set everything out a bit more. So, I did, and mate, it just gave me a whole new set of eyes on the situation. I was confused, not angry, but bewildered and became uncertain of just how well I knew my sister, my family, friends, even myself to some extent. After watching it (both for the family reasons, and just straight out getting hooked on the drama), everything came to make sense again. I even showed my Mum it, and mate even she had a whole new world of outlook on the situation - she too wasn't unaccepting, just unable to really understand the situation previously, I guess. I talked to my sis a few weeks after having seen every episode, about the whole thing, for the first time since she told us - like, I had talked to her, but not straight up about the whole lesbian thing. She talked to me, and from what she said, her situation sounded absolutely like a carbon copy of Spencer's in the show - she had felt seemingly set in her orientation being straight for so long, hadn't even thought of possibly being 'the other way' until she met a new friend at school. At first, they were just really great mates, and she said all of a sudden, things just started to change, until, pretty much exactly like the show, and after a lot of self-doubt and confusion, she realised that, yes, she was gay. She said that in previous she hadn't thought being gay an option.I told her to check out the show. \r\nShe did, she loved it, and has said she even passed it on to a friend of hers who is too confused about their orientation, and life in general. So, in all, this show has affected my life in amazing ways. My mum, she gets the whole thing so much better, and now, it's barely a difference between the old daughter she had. My sister's friend has some sort of reference to see what the whole experience is like - she is still unsure, and so isn't really ready to talk with anyone, thus making SoN a great reference point. And me, well it just made my whole life and my family, and my sister, make so much more sense.I also respect, rather than just tolerate, the whole gay/lesbian/bisexual scene now - I'm no longer a teenage guy who salivates at the thought of girl on girl, but smiles at the fact my sister can now find someone she truly loves in all confidence, and other girls (and guys) can too. So, to me, it's ridiculous this show is going. Not only from that possibly much too-long emotional point of view, but also from a business perspective. The channel's second rated show (that should be underlined, bolded, whatever), the first of their own-produced ones is getting cancelled, still at a relative peak in its life. The N themselves can sell this show overseas, spread it about, it's all theirs, they have all the control over it. It makes no sense to get rid of it now! Some say it's getting cancelled because the channel is going for a younger audience - My sister said she would have given the world to have something like this when she was younger, not only to learn tolerance, acceptance, but also to answer her own questions which nearly all young people (tween, or teen, gay, or straight) go through - I would have appreciated it as well. So why cancel it? A show at it's peak. The channel's own export. A huge emotional rock for thousands of young people not just in America, but around the world - in this case, on the opposite side and hemisphere!

South of Nowhere is not just a show, it is a movement. When it came on the air the subject matter was simply a love story between two girls. However, once this show began to become noticed a group of almost 21,000 fans united to join together into the closest fan group I have ever had the priviledge to get to know. We revolved around this couple for what, like three years amd now it is being taken away from us. I have discovered so much from this show not only about my sexuality but about tolerance and the power of one persons voice. This show means a lot more to me than I ever could have imagined and I don't even like TV, I turn it on for like 3 shows. I am a 20 year old female college student who doesn't label herself and wants to be heard. Please, do not take away our voice.

I can't believe they cancelled South Of Nowhere. The show changed my life. Made me a better person. Helped to accept me from how I am. Helped me to understand a lot of things like love, sex, friendship, family, sexual orientation, ect. I see myself in the character of Spencer. I lived the same things she lived when i was a teen. I feel the love of spashley. That love incondicional when they fight against the world just to be toghether. I wish i have this love with someone special. I undestand now that you have to accept yourself because you can't change that. Now i fight for what i love. I fight for my beliefs. Thanks to South Of Nowhere I learnt to live. I learnt to enjoy life and thank every day i live. That's why i'll fight to save South Of Nowhere... I'll fight to save Spashley

Growing up, there weren't any television shows and very few movies (that I wasn't old enough to rent) that I could relate to as a lesbian. A show like this would've really helped me to feel proud of who I was/am and to not feel so isolated in knowing that there are others like myself that aren't afraid to be out/free and to love who they love openly regardless of what people might say. I think it also really helps to 'normalize' the the gay community within the minds of young/old heterosexual viewers. Education is the key to ending hate/violence against the lgbt community. Please don't take this lovely and important show away from us.

Hmm ... okay so where to start? First off, i've been un able to watch son because I'm from England. However I'd find myself trying in every way possible to watch each episode every week. I think it's an amazing show, it deals with many teenage/young adult issues, for example gangs/shootings, drug abuse and so on and so forth. However the major issue dealt with on the show is the main storyline - sexuality. As a 16 year old Lesbian, I think the show is VERY considerate and relative to real life situations. AND I think that not only did it help teens deal with the realisation of being gay, but also acquainted them, and their respective families/friends about it. I think cancelling the show was a bad idea, and I hope that the south fans do stop watching the-n as they shouldn't have to settle for second best. Look at all of the fan sites ... read THESE testimonials, and see how badly we want south. Because we do. WE WANT SOUTH OF NOWHERE BACK!!! =[
