I can not believe that the show might/is be/being canceled! what's the problem? if the problem is money, we're donating at the moment. and PLUS the show is worth the amount of money it needs! if the problem is of bad influence, you're wrong! South of Nowhere has helped many people find who they are within themselves and has helped ME PERSONALLY with my issues. And i have a question that i'd like it to b answered. Why in the hell is The-N hooking up with Nick? Nick has a lot of younger kid fans and if they see the shows from Nick on The-N, they are going to watch The-N and The-N is for Teens [well as far as the shows i've seen]. So if you'd like to answer my question, E-Mail me at Nitrousa27@hotmail.com and explain this unreasonable hook up! And one last thing, the story line is great! And it draws a lot of fans! My parents even approve of the show and I could never say that about any other show that I watch. I LOVE S.O,N,! SO DON'T CANCEL IT OR I WILL BOYCOT The-N AND HAVE OTHERS DO 2

WHY! I love SoN. i just recently started watching it but i think its amazing. im not confused, im extremely straight but everyone around me is really homophobic and the more i watch this show it just makes me realize that everyones the same. seriously homophonics how wrong, spencer and ashely are so cute together! you dont have to be bisexual or lesbian to see that either!!!!!

I absolutely love SoN! I watch it daily on my iPod. Spashley are my heroes. They helped me learn to be more comfortable with my sexuality and self-perception, showing me that it's okay to be real and true to yourself. They've been through so much together in 2 1/2 years and I've been right there with them. They are so much a part of my life that I'm heartbroken the show is being canceled. We can't let that happen! Please, save Spashley!

Im 17 and I cant imagine who Id be without SoN. For years, I was confused. I didnt understand who I was or what I wanted. Before the show premiered, I had a cousin come out. I knew what being gay meant, but I didnt understand why my family was so upset. My grandmother explained to me why she thought gay people were bad, and (because I was 8) I didnt question. I sat down in front of my TV one night and watched SoN. I can honestly say that my entire perspective changed in one episode. At the end of that half hour I began to realize that being gay wasnt bad at all, and that my grandma was so wrong. For the first time, I realized that love really is just love. In SoN, I found who I was too. I found clarity like my cousin and I had a place to go. I found a whole community of people who were supportive. I feel like theres so little gay content in the media and that taking away SoN is going to take away one of the few shows that we as a community can really relate to on a deep level.

Honestly, im not sure what ill do if they cancel South. this show has helped me finally come to terms with my sexuality. it made it okay for me to be gay. Thats not to say that i was the least bit homophobic before my realization, i just never thought itd be something id have to deal with. my brother is out gay, so i was fortunate enough not to have to worry about a negative reaction from my parents. somehow, even before i fully understood what being a lesbian really meant, i was absolutely terrified of being labeled as one. thats thanks to societys negative view of homosexuality. i really think its shows like this that will help the world open its mind and stop the ignorant homophobic bull that seems to be the trend these days.

i love south of nowhere. when i heard it was being cancelled, i was really upset. south of nowhere is a great show. it helps teens deal with similar problems. im straight and i used to think homosexuality was disgusting, but after watching south of nowhere, i found out that theres nothing wrong with it and we should just learn to accept it. i hope this web site can help save south of nowhere. south of nowhere is a brillant show. it deserves a lot more seasons.

My name is Katie and I'm 17 years old, and I'm just finishing up my senior year of high school. At the beginning of this year, I was feeling really depressed. I don't really know how to describe the feeling, except that I felt like I was locked in a box that I had no idea how to get out of. One day, a friend of mine posted a clip from SoN (where Ashley asks Spencer to the prom) in a bulletin on myspace, and I immediately went and watched every episode of every season aired so far. It probably sounds exaggerated that a TV show can do so much for someone, but it can. Watching Spencer come out on the show helped me realize why I had been feeling so trapped, because it helped me realize that I, like Spencer, am gay. Realizing and accepting that set me free. This show is loved by so many people, and it has helped and has the potential to help so many more. Please don't cancel SoN. There are so many girls that need to know that love can exist them, and SoN is the only show out there for us.

im a 21 year old bisexual girl from england. s.o.n helped me realise the most important thing about myself, that IM NORMAL and should be proud of who i am. spashley shows a real relationship based on love and friendship. the show has given me the confidence not only to accept myself but also to come out to my friends and family which i know wont be easy. this show means so much to so many. it is our place of safety in a world of fear and uncertainty. all we want is the 5 seasons Tom Lynch had planned and to have this groundbreaking show on dvd. this amazing show has so much potential left, please don't take it away.....

My name is missy im 17 and im a lesbian. When i first saw south of nowhere i instantly fell in love with the show. At the time i was going through some rough times and south helped me. Actually spashley helped me. I thought that i was thinking the wrong thing about myself but when i saw spencer excepted herself i began to except myself. I think this show being cancelled will make the world a little more caotic because then where will questioning youth go to understand themselves. We all need something to believe in and south helps us with that one thing. We all believe in spashley and love them deeply. If south is cancelled i believe my life will get worse cause i wont have something to look forward to. No one will.

k..i can only watch the show from youtube. It really touched my heart when seeing the way they love each other.. they are just so so so in love.. how can people cancel out a show that could touched ppl's heart?? And, it really done a great great jobs that telling people gay/ lesbian arent kind of disease, or mental illness. It's just natural like others.. i am from malaysia, but i am chinese. For ur information malaysia is an islamic country, and they do think that gay or lesbian are sick. So do my parent. But ever since i watched tis show, and i start to think that wat i want is just as normal as everyone does, LOVE! You do not have to feel bad n sad when u are homosexual, dun feel proud when u are straight. Big thx to SON telling me that i dun have to feel shame of myself. Big thx to SON telling me that i should be brave and being who i am. That's de reason why i support SON, truly for love.

My name is Katie and I am 14 years old. I started watching South of Nowhere during the hiatus between the second and third seasons, and I must admit that when I first saw it, I was a little surprised that a teenage show had two lesbians as the main characters. However, I quickly fell in love with it, and it became a huge part of my life. Spencer and Ashley came into my life at just the right time: I'd been questioning my sexuality for a while, and seeing Spashley on TV helped me become much more comfortable with myself and gave me the courage to accept who I really was. I saw what it was like for Spencer to come out to her parents, and her courage helped me to come out to my best friend. South of Nowhere has made me laugh, cry, scream at the TV, talk endless hours on the phone with my friends over plotlines, and learn what it is really like to love something unconditionally. This is why I believe that this masterpiece shouldn't be cancelled; I wouldn't be who I am today without it. :)

Posted:  2008-03-16 06:36:26 Rating

Hi! So I just want to say some things about South of Nowhere...Why are the-n cancelling this show? It's so briliant, and outstanding. This show is real, just simply real...I know a lot of people can see them sevles in atleast one of the characters, and the fact tat the characters on the show represents so many different issues like: Skin colour, homosexuality, drug problems and going on. These problems are very normal in todays society, and with those character we all ave someone to resemble ourselves with. South of Nowhere is so much more than just a TV-show. South has helped a lot of people accepting themselves, and a huge part of people have allso learned to accept others for who they truly are. If that's not good enough reason to keep the show, I tell you that this show is the only show (that I'm aware of at least) that deals with problems like this. It's the only show where the storyline is focused on two lesbians that are so young, usually they're allways much older. But with this show everything seems so real and true! People that's dealing with the problem of coming out, or just the propblem of being different really need this show. Cause without it so many people can be lost, and YOU are the only one whocan save them. South of Nowhere shows us true love with the relationship of Spashley, and it also shows how hard it is to be with the one you love only because you are different. The only thing that gives us hope is that we know that nothing can win over true love. Spencer and Ashley prooved that to us in the time that has passed, and we now know, because of this show, that being with the one you love never is wrong, no matter who the person you love is. Thanks for listening to what I had to say, I hope the-n really will reconcider their choice of cancelling South of Nowhere because this show has saved a lot of people from hiding, and being afraid of showing their true face. Save South of Nowhere and Spashley. PLEASE! Love Sarah

My name is Johanna and i'm 16 years old. I started watching South a couple of episodes in to the second season, but since i live in Sweden it was probably by pure luck that i found the show. I found out about South of Nowhere through a non-american friend of mine and i watched all the episodes that had been aired in two days. And I'm really thankful for that because South helped me when no one else even knew that something was wrong, it didn't matter how bad i was feeling because when i got home and was able to watch another episode of South everything felt better. And the reason i felt so shitty was because i had fallen in love, i had fallen so fucking hard, and the person i had fallen for was a girl. But unlike so many other people i didn't struggle with it, but the thing that i did struggle with was labeling myself as gay or bi but because of South i found that i didn't have to. South saved me when no one else could and that's why it shouldn't get canceled. It saves people.

Posted:  2008-03-15 21:02:45 Rating

Well hello there, my name is Brenda and I'm 20 years old. I began watching South of Nowhere from the very first day it aired on the N. Now when I began watching it I had NO clue it would be about teenage lesbians. I was a bit shocked and surprised that they would air such a program because I was never comfortable around the gay community, but I kept on watching it religiously. I am straight but there was something about Spencer and Ashley that intrigued me. It opened my eyes to other types of relationships. It made me more comfortable with homosexual relationships. I even began to have a girl crush on Mandy. I believe that the N should not cancel South of Nowhere because there are still people like who I use to be. This show opened my eyes and I would hate for it to end. South of Nowhere has impacted me in a positive way and I know it can do the same for others. Love Spashley forever!

I'm 22, female and bisexual. I think everyone but you folks at The-N have recognized what a special thing you’ve got in South of Nowhere. Unique and when at its best, powerful. For everyone who’s ever feared 'coming out' because they would be forever labelled simply by who they love; SoN gives hope that you can overcome it. It gives many the courage to stand up for themselves, and throw those 'labels' right back at you; whatever they might be for, not just ones sexuality. Ashley and Spencer are such interesting, strong characters that you root for them no matter who you are. Their story deserves to be told..

Hey, I'm Carly and I'm 16. I was absolutely devastated when I found out the show was cancelled. I even started crying. It's an amazing show. It helped me so much. as I'm sure it's helped numerous others. It was so great to finally find a TV show I could relate to and one that I could turn to to help me through some of the tougher times in life. I came out last year, and it was extremely hard, and my family wasn't what you'd call accepting. But this show, it helped me more than I think people realize. It showed homosexuality as something normal, and not the horrific thing my parents made it and me out to be. It made me realize that it's okay. It was just so easy to relate to. I can't even begin to imagine not having it on anymore. It's really the only show out there dealing with real, everyday life issues. South of Nowhere has helped so many people, in all sorts of different ways, and I hope the N realizes this. Much Love,Carly

It is important not to under estimate the value of this show. Its appeal and power are not just in the entertainment value, but also in the way it connects certain young girls to a familiar predicament, one which may make them feel isolated and alone, if they couldn't see a positive portrayal of someone in a similar situation. The show reaches remote places where tolerance and acceptance are lacking, and it may help bring understanding and enlightenment where there is darkness and ignorance.

Hey my name is Megan and i am 17yrs old. I Just want to say that the-N's #2 rated show is getting cancelled due to discrimination. Tom Lynch you gave a bad response to cancelling this show you said something like"Things Change" and thats not the case at all you just want to be like everybody else you dont want to deal with a show that has to deal with gay/lez/bi whatever. You what to change something you should keep South of Nowhere on you shouldnt take away a show that has helped many teens and adults feel comturable with their sexuality and for those people who hasnt gotten a chance to see this show. This show has help people not care who they are and how they feel good about themselves and that says alot. for people to come out to everybody b/c of this show is amazing. your just like clay he left b/c he doesnt believe in homosexuality and you doing the same thing. Another nextwork should take this show b/c it is amazing. please dont take away show thats helped me. SAVE S.O.N.!!!!

So I'm a 15, year old bisexual female and South Of Nowhere is probably the most important tv show I've ever seen. I wasn't confused about my sexuality but before South of Nowhere there wasn't anything that I could relate to on tv. Spashley's storyline really showed me how amazing it can be just to be yourself. It shows so many people how by accepting yourself, you open up to new opportunities like love. Cancelling South os a huge mistake and many teens need it.

the n sucks. i cant believe they would cancle the best show (south of nowhere) on their station. its so freakn rediculous. hopefully theyll take in to consideration all of us trying to save it and reconsider. But seriously SON is the best show and it means sooo much to a lot of people, it covers so many realistic situations unlike ...lets say degrassi. degrassi goes wayyy to far and its just not as good as south of nowhere. Doesnt even come close. please save south. we LOVE it and NEED it.

Hi I'm Erica I'm 15 and i think the N Cancelling SON is a very stupid choice from both a networking and personal side i've been watching the show from the beginning and that was when i was like 12 and it help me to understand some of the feelings i've had i've even written to Mandy and Gabby about some of my quetions i mean what other show can connect with it's fans like that i wouldn't be able to write to Adamo from Degrassi and get the kind of advice i could from Mandy this show connects with teens who are haveing questions about who they are and it's great that we have this show to see that show us how to deal with the girl at school who picks on us for being a little different and that even though our parents may no like who we are they still love us. besides I mean come on what other show on your network has been nominated for not one, not two, but THREE award shows (GLAAD, Teen Choice, and Wave) this show has single handedly broaded you audience

Hello, tngo 15 years, I live in mexico campeche, am a woman, and the truth I do not see because to remove the series, for which in if, to I throw(add) recapasitar many people, who has an erroneous idea on the topics that the series manages to touch, as wing discrimination both in races and in sexual orientation, which many veses the people block up since they have them catalogued as a few 'erroneous' stereotypes for saying it this way, and that it does not have anything that to see with what they are in person in if, this series, ami male prostitute of sight did recapasitar many people and generations who come, and for the new eneraciones in order that they do not have the same 'erroneous' consepto d that the demas you present or it(he,she) has any like consepto, for my brilliant(genial) series that was continuing, for that there has much about which to speak. I hope that the N realizes that there is plenty of SON fans. Its the 2nd most popular show there right? Even if Degrassi is ahead by quite a bit...why would you want to get rid of your 2nd best show?...and replace it with shows that are already on other channels (zoey 101, unfabulous...rnt those already on nick or sumthing)...and isnt that why they left their old channel, to get away from those shows...so if the N has ANY sense at all...they wont cancle SON

I saw my first episode of SoN on March 9th, I stopped 5 min in b/c I didnt want to see the rest until I saw the other episodes. It took four days. Over the past week, I've had this feeling inside that I can't explain, and I'm scared b/c I feel like my life has been turned upside down. But as much as nothing makes sense right now, seeing Ashley and Spencer together, that makes sense. Love in its purest form. Real, raw love that is blind to gender and labels. I don't know what I am, I still get that feeling when I see a cute boy , but I havn't gotten it seeing girls around school. But then, when I see Ashley and Spencer together it's like my heart jumps out of my chest and I'm hanging on every moment and every word. To have a revalation like that in a week, that should count for something! There are so many people in the world that this show can touch like it did me, and although I feel alone now and I dont know where to go, I have SoN until I figure it out. Dont take it away!

South of nowhere just a show? To some people yes, but to me it's been a life changing experience. My name is Jen, I'm 21 years old and before I watched south of nowhere my life was nothing but a big lie. Since I can remember I knew I was attracted to girls and I hated it I did everything I could think of to never let it come out. I stereotype myself.. I made sure I was always the most popular girl in school, I dated the best looking guy's out there I won home coming queen, prom queen, four years in a row I won most attractive girl in school at 16 I got a Range Rover I was living the life that so many people would want. But me.. I know it was all a lie inside but I just never wanted it to come out. I never wanted to accept it. I thought within time it would just go away but it didn't. Within time it got worse and harder and harder each day. But honesty at that point I didn't care how hard it got for me all I cared about was what people would think of me. My parents, sisters,br others, grandparents, friends and even people I didn't even know .One day my friends and I were watching MTV and South of Nowhere was on and at that point I never even heard of the show before. It was the episodes trouble in paradise. Well when it was done I went home and got onto itunes and bought every single episode there was and watched it all from the beginning of season one to the very end of season two. I think I cried more watching that show then I ever cried in my life. It wasn't just a show to me, that show was me. It represented who I was. Watching Spencer dealing with finding out who she was, was like watching myself. From having nightmares, to dating a guy knowing he wasn't what I really wanted. I realized that no matter what I did to try to prevent myself from being who I was nothing was ever going to work. When season three came out I watched every episode and I'll never for get the episode when Spencer got home after her date with that guy and told her mom everythin g she was feeling. Watching that gave me the courage to come out to my family. I think my mother cried for weeks, my grandparents didn't believe it, and my friends told me there was no way. After time things were great. My family accepted it, but the best part was I accepted who I was. It took a television show for me to stop hating myself, for me to be able to know it wasn't the end of the world because I like girls. So yes south of nowhere might just be a show but for me it changed my life. How many people could say that about a show? Not many.. Save Spashley!!!

I'm 25 years old and from the United States. I find it absolutely insane that the network chose to cancel South of Nowhere. While I am not exactly in the age group that the-N is trying to target for their audience, I am an avid follower of SoN. The fact that people of all ages, ethnicities, and backgrounds can find a common theme in SoN and Spashley should really show the-N what a jewel they really have. I can't describe how wonderful it felt to see someone like Spencer on this show. As someone who came from an ultra-religious background myself, it was awesome to see those same struggles I had while growing up, represented in Spencer on-screen. That's why it's so heartbreaking that this show is going off the air because they are not just taking our favorite TV characters off the air, and this probably sounds dramatic, but it's like they are taking away parts of us. And that makes me sad.

I am a 20 year old female from the UK who is a huge fan of South of Nowhere. This show has helped me, and countless other young people come to terms with their sexuality, through the depiction of a teenage lesbian relationship and also of a young girl realising she is gay and subsequently coming out. The issues explored on SoN ring true to so many young people who are going through the same thing, and this TV show has provided a 'safe haven' for some young people; a place where they can see someone else going through the same thing they are, and coming out of it happy and healthy. Coming out and coming to terms with your sexuality is a troubling thing for many young people, especially in isolated areas, and at a time when it feels like 'the end of the world' to be gay, SoN helped me to realise that it wasn't. Please don't cancel the show, so it can continue to provide help and guidance to more young people.

Hi my name is Jodi and I'm a straight 45 year old woman. I first learned of this site, and the show South of Nowhere, from my 16 year old daughter Ashante whom has recently came out as a lesbian. (I didn't react the way the mother Paula did on the show but I was really shocked.) This is much more than a show, it's a voice gay youth. I'm completely shocked they would even consider cancelling it! I doubt this letter will help in the slightest but I can at least say I tried. P.S. Spencer and Ashley are a really cute couple. Go Spashley!

What did the actors, show, characters ever do to desrve this? I hope that whoever is cancelling has a good reason, cause if not, they suck and ae ruining the best tv show that has been on tv...like forever.

Well, what can I say about SoN other than it helped me be who I am today? I grew up with SoN and it helped me through the most confusing stage of my life. Now, at nearly 20, I'm proud to say that, that show was the reason that I could accept and love myself more easily. However, without it, I'm not too sure things would be as they are today. Would I still love myself? Would I still accept who I am? Would I still be on the road to learn how to let others in? It's kind of sad to think that some people find strength in TV shows, but that just shows how big of an impact SoN has had to millions of girls. Why take that away from them? Why take away their heroes that taught them to hope and dream of the better things that are on the way? Why take away their security blanket? SoN showed thousands of confused girls that it's okay to dream because, in the end, all you have to do is love who you are and accept it. South of Nowhere is spreading the love and acceptance, and so are the South fans..

Why the N? Whyyyyyy!? The first time I heard about SON being canceled I thought it was a joke. And if its because of all these homopobics, they really really need to get over it. I'm straight and if I can deal with it so can every one else. Its not like Spencer and Ashley's realationship is just lust. Its full of love and beauty. If the N can't see that then you need to get your eyes check. South of Nowhere has help tons of girl and even guys realize what they truely want in life and just..... to go for it and don't be scared. I may only be 13 but I'm pretty sure in today's society kids my age or even younger are experierencing things like what is your sexuality. Canceling South is one of the dumbest moves by far. The N, your going to regret this big time. Look at alllll this supporters, why would you do this. Obviously South of Nowhere is one of the best-est--est-est-est shows on this planet. So next time be smarter.

I really really hope that South Of Nowhere is not cancelled. It has seriously been the best show I've ever seen. This show helped me a lot when I first came out. Sure, I was only twelve when I first admitted I was confused, but the show helped me. I'm now fourteen, and pretty postive I'm a lesbian. South Of Nowhere, honestly did help me. I hope that it doesn't get cancelled because it could help a lot of other girls like me out there. This show is so great and even straight people can relate to it. It really is my favorite and I know it's a ton of other people's favorite also. The- N better keep the show up, since it helps so many people. It helped me, so I guarentee it can help someone else. I love to talk about this stuff, so e-mail or myspace me if you'd like to talk :] SAVE SPASHLEY!

I am a senior right now, and I feel like South has been with me my entire high school career. This show has completely changed my life. I'm straight, so I have never had to deal with the whole pressure of coming out, but because of this show I have a complete new outlook on life. I see my friends, and the world in general, and I see the hate that is given to the gay community. If one show like this can change just a few lives every day, than why take it away? South has helped sooo many people, old, young, gay, straight, bi, boy, girl. EVERYONE in some way or another can find a piece of themselves in this show, and to take it away would be one of the worst things you could ever do. I once heard someone say that Tom Lynch intended this to be a five season show, and i plan to see all five seasons! No more cutting, no more censoring, and definitly no cancellations! This show is a direct reflection of life right now. It doesn't get more real than South.
